National Credibility - Local Impact

Social care report unearths £625m savings for British taxpayers

A new report has revealed that a staggering £625m of taxpayers' money could be saved if more appropriate provision was made for people needing home adaptations. The report's authors presented the findings to leading parliamentarians and industry figures in Parliament this morning.

Parliamentary reception for ‘Ghost Boy’ Martin Pistorius

Children and Families Minister Sarah Teather told a reception in the House of Lords this week (Tuesday March 6th) that she was listening to concerns raised with her about Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services and communication aids. She said that some of these concerns would soon be addressed in a formal response to the Government’s consultation on issues affecting children with Special Educational Needs.
