It is often difficult for airlines to accommodate the handling and transportation of powered mobility products in the hold of an aircraft without specific product information. Products are often presented at the departure gate leaving the airlines and their personnel with little information on size, weight, battery type etc and how to immobilise them to prevent inadvertent operation whilst in the aircraft hold. Incorrect handling of the product could lead to inadvertent operation and the risk of fire.
A datasheet has been produced in conjunction with the Civil Aviation Authority to act as a reference guide and assist in the safe transportation of such product.
