Glowing endorsements from home and abroad!
The response to our achieving full Code approval has been very positive – both from member companies and firms “out there” interested in being considered for membership. We have also received welcome messages of support and congratulations from industry and government.
Sam Gallup CBE Advisor Parliamentary Limb Loss Group wrote:
"I expect that, like me, you feel often that the more I do the more I get “done” in more senses than one and that this applies to all your devoted and skilled colleagues in the “BHTA Team. So it is an especial pleasure for me to ask you to accept and to kindly convey to your colleagues my heartfelt congratulations on the Award of Full Approval of the BHTA Code of Practice by the Office of Fair Trading. I also extend my congratulations and thanks for the most influential and valuable and much-needed paper by the York Health Economics Consortium, illuminating your outreach in “Improving Service Provision. This highlights just two aspects of the many ways in which you all are helping others in need to help themselves."
Lord Morris of Manchester's PA said: “I informed him of your letter by phone earlier today and he was naturally very pleased by the award of full approval for BHTA's Code of Practice under OFT's Consumer Codes Approval Scheme. As you know, Lord Morris chaired for BHTA the first meeting, held here at the House of Lords, aimed at this outcome and he sends not only his endorsement but also warm congratulations to everyone involved in the process”.
On a recent visit to the UK, Chris Sparks, Executive Officer of the Independent Rehabilitation Suppliers Association (IRSA) of Australia came to the London offices of BHTA, met with Ray Hodgkinson and said: I am excited and encouraged by BHTA's achievement of Code recognition. We are the first stage of having our Code adopted and we owe a debt of gratitude to the BHTA for their leadership and direction of developing our Code." Chris is pictured with Ray above.
