About Us

BHTA Head OfficesBHTA is run on a day to day basis by a Board of Management, which consists of the directors of the Association.  They receive strategic input and decision from the Council, which consists of the Chairmen of our various Sections, with the directors attending as observers.

Our current Vision, Mission and Strategic Aims are as follows:

BHTA will become the foremost trusted partner Trade Organisation, representing a wide cross range of Medical and Assistive Technologies, that is consulted as the Industry's voice by both Government and non-Government bodies.

The BHTA Blue Roundel will be sought after by practitioners, consumers and patients who trust in the Ethical Standards and High Standards of Care Member Companies must abide by.

Creating a vibrant and profitable health and social care market on behalf of our members and in so doing improving services to customers, our aims are:

  1. To achieve collective national recognition.
  2. To have regulated and professional people.
  3. To sustain an ethical and professional industry.
  4. To create a vibrant and innovative commercial environment in which members can succeed.
  5. To have an involved and informed membership with good two-way communication.

Member companies participate in the product / service Sections pertinent to their business.  Each Section meets several times per annum, to discuss issues of interest to the members, to develop position papers and advice leaflets as appropriate, and formulate responses to external consultations.  Working Groups are formed to tackle specific issues as and when needed.
