BHTA has worked with the Chartered Trading Standards Institute and the National Trading Standards Board to develop awareness guidance for Trading Standards Officers about their responsibility to keep safe adults at risk of financial and other forms of abuse.
Speaking at NAEP's conference, BHTA's Director of Communications, Lord Rennard, addressed the subject of "Disability, Integration of Health & Social Care, the Care Act and the Better Care Fund:

The British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) has partnered with GS1 UK to encourage all its members to join GS1 UK to access the unique identifiers and bar codes needed for their products.
As a special offer to BHTA members, GS1 UK has agreed to waive the membership joining fee if they join before 30 June 2015.
BHTA has produced a “Manifesto for healthcare and assistive technology”, setting out the case for investment in assistive technology equipment and services, and highlighting the need to enable wider use of prescribing/vouchers/part-funding among patients.
The manifesto has been circulated to all BHTA members, MPs, CCG contacts and a wide range of opinion-formers, and will be sent to all new MPs.
